As a philanthropic in its true sense KSV has observed need to empower female students to make them independent financially and socially with all present social and cultural biases in which they live. The fact that women are at the tipping point of entrepreneurship in India today and having higher success rates. In spite of that they face many challenges and barriers to start and run the venture. While there is increased social acceptance of women in the workplace, they still face difficulties in finding team members, mentors, knowledge about sources of finance, supporting agencies, practical exposure, and training and funding to scale up their ideas. After conducting Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp we observed keen interested amongst lot of female students to go for an entrepreneurship.
More than 500 female students showed the interest in Entrepreneurial training. We have selected 60 students from various intuitions of KSV for WEDP. Selection was based on written test (General Entrepreneurial Tendency) and Personal Interview. We have conducted two WEDPs, one at Gandhinagar and One at Kadi Campus. We got funding support from Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDI) & Department of Science and Technology for one WEDP. During WEDP 60 female students were trained for 25 days on different aspects of Entrepreurship by experts.
